Raw Banana Masala curry
Like Bananas, raw banana's are also very effective to get soft, smooth, manageable as well as moisturized hair. Because of the rich potassium, vitamins, calcium, carbohydrates content and the rich natural oils present in it, bananas provide nourishment to our hair and makes them smooth and shiny.

Ingredients
- 2 Raw Banana
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 sprig Curry Leaves
- ½ tsp Mustard seeds
- ½ tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 pinch Hing
- 1 Green Chilli
- ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder (haldi)
- To taste Salt
- 1 cup Onions, finely chopped
- ½ cup Chopped Tomatoes
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- ½ tsp Coriander powder
- 2 tbsp Coriander leaves
Instructions
- Wash and peel banana, make sure the inner skin is completely removed.
- Cube them and steam them in a pressure cooker or steamer until just cooked. It takes up to 10 to 12 minutes on medium flame.
- Heat a pan with oil, add cumin and mustard seeds and let them pop.
- Add hing, curry leaves, onions and green chillies. Saute until the onion turns completely golden. Add ginger garlic paste and saute them until the raw smell goes away.
- Add tomatoes, salt and turmeric powder. Mix and saute until the tomatoes turn mushy.
- Add red chilli powder, garam masala and coriander powder. Mix and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Pour half cup water to the pan and stir well. Cook until the mixture turns to a thick gravy. You can add more water if you like moist curry.
- Taste test the salt and spices. Add the steamed banana and stir well.
- Cover and cook for 3 to 4 mins on a very low flame. Banana must cook nicely but should not become mushy.
- Add coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
Notes
Note: You can also boil the raw banana’s in a pot with 2 cups water.
Serving Tip: Serve this Raw banana curry with roti, paratha or rice.
